One of the most beautiful state parks GA has. The thousand feet drop, so many waterfalls and so many views, want to climb up? No issues, want to climb down, knock yourself out. Want a flat surface trail, take a pick. So many overlooks, trails from trails, and just the pure wonder of nature. There are two trails, south ridge and North ridge. South ridge is more popular, and more crowded, goes down the gorge and a million steps, leads to the bridge and covers the views of all major waterfalls. North ridge is relatively quiet, and rides on the top of the ridge for a bit on the stepless but hilly tarrian, also with stunning views of the gorge, and some minor falls. The only potential drawback is the i985 an 85 traffic, if you are an Atlantan. Plan ahead, keep the peach pass handy and you are in for a spectacle.
Jan 2, 2026 · Google ReviewBeautiful falls! It's a lot of stairs to get here. That's not too bad, but you then have to climb them to leave. Over 500 from here back to either rim. Falls and pool are beautiful. Permit required to leave the platform and go into the river.
Dec 27, 2025 · Google ReviewTallulah gorge State Park was great. Awesome hiking experience...310 steps down and up from the bridge, not for the weak. Sights were so much better from the over looks 1-10 than pictures will show.
Aug 25, 2025 · Google ReviewAn incredibly beautiful place! A tall suspension bridge! I highly recommend it! But be prepared to climb 625 steps down and back up—it's not easy...but it's worth it!
Oct 20, 2025 · Google ReviewNice falls at the bottom of the gorge. I didn’t count the steps but there must be at least 1k. Make sure you’re ready for the exit up. Check out the overlooks on the parking lot side then travel down the steps to the bottom. No permit needed for that overlook either. Then travel back to the top on the other side. Check out those overlooks then continue to the vehicle bridge for the great view of the full gorge.
