Kyle HumphreyImpressive meal. Staff was quick in letting us know it would be a wait between dishes, which meant I got some great one-on-one time with the love of my life! We ordered goat cheese burrata and scallops to start, with a perfectly prepared lamb dish as well as the local trout for main course. A few patrons were rude to staff and it could've easily soured the night, but Chef was quick to make sure we were happy. PLEASE make a reservation!! It helps the kitchen know how many flippin' people are gonna show up!

KPT JonesOur first experience, and it was delightful! Our server, Aiden, was very attentive and communicated with us well. The dishes were fabulous, and the atmosphere was a 10! We ended up having the pleasure of catching the Chef on the way out who was happy to talk with us about our experience, as well as our shared respect and appreciation for chefs in Birmingham. Can’t wait to go back!

jeff schomburgerThis is our favorite restaurant in this beautiful area. Johannes is a wonderful chef and even a better human being and host. We have been to the Library 10 times now and it’s always a new and great experience with specials and exquisite food. The time and care put in to the soups and escargot is truly one of a kind. We love eating in the bar area and watching the kitchen perform their craft!!

Katie EberhardtWe celebrated our elopement at The Library and were absolutely not disappointed. The food was phenomenal, the cocktails were hand crafted and refreshing, and the service was outstanding. Our server Noe took wonderful care of us & made sure that we felt special, even chasing us out of the restaurant with the rose from the table for me to take home. The chef also made sure to personally thank us for our patronage. The Library offers a warm atmosphere that feels like home. We will most certainly be back!

John CapozziAs my wife and I meandered our way back to New York from Fort Myers via the Blue Ridge Parkway, we stopped for 2 nights in the small beautiful town of Cashiers, North Carolina. Before we started our trip, my wife had researched some places to eat for our stay in Cashiers and made a reservation at the Library Kitchen and Bar. We had no idea what a great dining experience we were about to have. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were warmly greeted and quickly seated. The artwork that was displayed throughout the restaurant was simply amazing. Our server was extremely pleasant and informative with any questions that we had regarding the restaurant and food choices. For starters my wife and I opted for the Spicy Ahi Tuna Roll and Goat Cheese Bruschetta. Both were excellent. For our main courses I chose the Berkshire Pork chop which I must say was one of the best pork chops that I have had at a restaurant. My wife had the Hazelnut Crusted Chicken Breast which she raved about. For dessert my wife and I split the Bread Pudding. It was the perfect end to a great dinner. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Liz was. Throughout our time at the restaurant she found the time to speak with us and educate us about the history of the restaurant. She invited us to tour other rooms in the restaurant to see art work that was displayed. Liz played such a huge role in providing us with such a great experience. Also, after our dinners were served, Chef Johannes made it a point to stop at our table to make sure everything was to our liking. As we were leaving the restaurant, Chef Johannes came to say goodbye and we ended up talking for 20 minutes about his culinary journey. This was one of the best dining experiences that my wife and I have ever had. A must go to restaurant!!!
