Great trail hard coming out watch for rebar that's been nailed in the middle of the trail for some reason
Jun 1, 2026 · Google ReviewHiked to the Chattooga. 2.2 miles. Some short, strenuous climbs, particularly coming out. Beautiful candy area at the river. Some gorgeous, relatively calm deep water for swimming. A few tight spots on the trail with downed trees. Crews do an amazing job even keeping trails open. Fun day in a light rain. Going back to fish.
Mar 16, 2026 · Google ReviewIf you visit here, please also visit Long Creek Falls! Just down the road a lil and a very worthwhile trip! Turkey Ridge road has no road signage that I could see, but is a pretty nice gravel road, wider than a vehicle, but try and look ahead for oncoming cars so you can find a spot for passing. Only a few bumps along the way. Parking is a large space on the left, views of mountains in the distance. Trail starts a very short ways back down the road, look for the 2 boulders and kiosk thing. Trail is marked with white blazes, easy to slightly moderate at worst. Few trees to scramble thru or under - I did bop my head while scrambling in-between one lol, I stood up too soon! Single trek, it'll take you to the river, with a pretty beach and clear water and views across the shore. From here to trail winds it's way left and it's a short, interesting jaunt to the falls. A cute falls is easily accessible here as a bonus and you can make out the main falls in the background.

Sep 27, 2025 · Google ReviewWow, really a beautiful falls. Nice hike, nothing to strenuous
Aug 23, 2025 · Google ReviewThe trail to the falls was in BAD SHAPE, guessing after hurricane Helene. Lots of work has been done, but a LOT more needs to be done! A whole lot of crawling under and over down to trees that are across the trail
Aug 19, 2025 · Google ReviewTrail Overview: I hiked this trail from 10 AM to 2 PM on a weekday. It was mostly single-file and a bit rugged, with brush that kept whacking against me. Tree logs had been cleared, but the trail still felt somewhat wild. The way down was easy, but the return was all uphill—go early to beat the heat and bring plenty of water. The waterfall was beautiful and more impressive than Yellow Branch Falls. I had lunch by the river before heading to the falls. I did see someone with just their feet in the water, though a sign at the beginning of the trail warned against swimming due to recent drownings. On the way back, I came across what I think was a newt, and later, a black snake. Be cautious—when I went, the trail was nearly empty (the person by the river was heading back), and I took a small tumble. Hike with care, especially if going alone. AllTrails mentions another waterfall, but I couldn’t find a path to it. It’s probably off-trail or only visible in winter. Cell service with T-Mobile was spotty—some random areas had signal. The road leading to the trailhead was well maintained but a bit narrow. From the parking area, you can see the mountains—really beautiful. Overall, a quiet and scenic hike with great views. Worth it if you're prepared for a bit of a workout on the way back and some solitude on the trail.
