Keep driving past Opossum Falls and you will reach the end of the gravel road (Turkey Ridge, which has no road sign but is a pretty great gravel road), a huge spot for parking - no signage at all. Trail is to the right, an old single vehicle sized logging road, which curves gently downhill and splits into a Y. Go right 👉 and follow til it also ends in a large flat area. Trail picks up here, also to the right a lil, to become single trek that heads downward (no blazes so stay on the path and trust it!). This follows an even older logging road, peppered with younger trees, easy hiking, few trees down. You'll hear the river and hear it again, but this time you are listening to the falls, which are tucked away a lil and flow into the river. Last very short leg of the trail is a scramble downward, roots n rocks but mostly roots, plenty of foot and hand holds. You will need to cross the creek to get close to the falls, I waded thru and it was lower calf deep at most.
Nov 29, 2025 · Google ReviewThis is one of my favorite waterfalls. The best part was the sound of the rapids created by the beautiful boulder-filled Chattooga River to the left and the twin waterfall spilling into the river, creating several cascades to the right. It was so peaceful that it felt like God was sitting beside us on the boulder. An incredible experience and breathtaking view! Long Creek Falls in South Carolina is truly unique and offered us a memorable experience with its multiple cascades that will always hold a special place in my heart We were also treated to another part of the trail called Ravens cliff. The hike over all is easy until the last little bit & requires some effort but you have trees to help you with the scramble down but very much worth it. Don’t let the reviews on AllTrails scare you off because we almost didn’t do it and was so glad we did.
Aug 30, 2024 · Google ReviewWent here hiking with my buddy. The long creek falls were pretty, but warning it is STEEP to get down to them. The rest of the trail off shoots are very steep with little view payoff. The same road has opossum creek falls, which is also a nice hike. Don't know if I would come back, but it was enjoyable enough.
Mar 28, 2024 · Google ReviewOne of my favorite falls in Oconee County. Moderately paced, you follow a slow decline amongst the forest until the end of the trail, where there is a bit of mangrove and trees downwards, before seeing the sweeping views. This trail takes you to a pretty waterfall with a beach site that overlooks the river with Georgia just across it. Dog friendly!
Feb 2, 2024 · Google ReviewLong Creek Falls, located in Westminster, South Carolina, is a magnificent fall along Long Creek. The fall is about 75 feet and tumbles down into the Chattooga River. The like is about a 3.3 mile round trip, that is moderate. The very end descends rapidly for the lasy several hundred yard, which is a steep hike back up. This is a don't miss waterfall.
