This was a nice find. The gravel road down to the lake seemed a little sketchy at first, might have been the road grader sitting at the entrance. The lake is the perfect size for a quick walk around. I found Mountain Lion tracks in the mud. I spent a little over an hour here. No one else around. It was great!!!

Trail is about 0.85 miles, took less than 30 min to finish. Very easy and flat walk that loops around the lake. Lots of geese too.

Beautiful lake and trail. The trail is short so it is no problem to walk if you have a lazy person with you. We saw a lot of beautiful animals such as fish, turtles and even a little water snake.

What a beautiful State Park! Take time to visit this North Georgia retreat. Wind upward thru the park and you'll find 3 trails from 2.2 MI to 7.5 mile and the beautiful trail circling the lake. We were told that the lake is stocked with trout, stripers and we did in fact see at least a 7lb trout when walking over the trail bridge. There is also RV campsites better suited for smaller campers but if you have a larger you can try a we did see a few spots and a Class A there but personally I would not try. We will return when we have more time to visit.
