Not too bad of a hike. Some places can be slippery. The waterfalls are worth the effort. I would recommend going in the spring or after a good rain.
6 months ago · Google ReviewGreat trail with multiple waterfalls. This is a well marked, somewhat easy to moderate trail suitable for most age ranges. An in and the Out trail that runs about 1.1 miles in so 2.2 round trip. Trail head has limited parking so if the campground is open you may want to park there.
6 months ago · Google ReviewSpur of the moment pull off when taking a drive with my MIL. We were in flip flops and it was almost dusk, so we were just exploring for fun. Parking on the side of the road (not the campground entrance) the trail was BEAUTIFUL winding through a rhododendron forest. Then we climbed over the log jam at the first creek crossing, and went on toward the first falls at the campground called Panther Falls. We turned around from there because it was almost dark. The trail is easy except for the log jam.
7 months ago · Google ReviewI’d say 80% of this trail is on the easy scale. If you park at the “free” pull-off area along Lake Rabun Rd there is a somewhat precarious point at the beginning as you cross the first stream. Its steep and muddy. There is also a fallen tree that must be climbed over. But this can all be circumvented by beginning the trail at the camp/picnic area down the road. Out and back took me about an hour and a half. Though i hike faster than most. The most challenging part would be towards the top; past Panther Falls and on the final stretch to Angel Falls. It gets steep, sometimes muddy, and parts aren’t too well maintained as of 2/2025. There are some unguarded and narrow switchback paths that could be dangerous if you’re not sure-footed. If you’re mobility challenged you might consider stopping at Panther Falls, but if you’ve got good feet and good shoes or just brazen.. a good walking stick will get you to the top. It is worth it. Great hike.
a year ago · Google ReviewFun, easy, and interesting hike to Panther Falls which is on the way to Angle Falls. Panther was beautiful and the water was nice and cool. It was super refreshing after the hike up. Angle Falls is a steeper climb and the fall was covered by tons of vegetation. It’s probably spectacular in the colder months when the leaves are gone. I highly recommend this trail!
