WebsiteDirections
Come join Georgia Master Naturalist Michelle Withrow for an engaging walk-and-talk identifying Native and Invasive plants. Michelle hosts the annual Georgia Wild Foods educational weekend each fall in North Georgia and has led popular walks at Foxfire for the past two years.
This nature walk is an easy, approximately one-mile stroll through the Foxfire property. It is suitable for ages 7 and up, but not recommended for those with limited mobility, as the terrain includes occasional uneven ground and gentle inclines. Hiking shoes or tennis shoes are recommended, along with sunscreen, bug spray, and a light rain jacket.
The class concludes with a delicious snack of chestnut flour crepes with berry syrup. Participants are encouraged to bring lunch and spend the rest of the day exploring Foxfire’s unique buildings and grounds.
