On our way home the wife and I (and of course Squirt) stopped at this park. Black Rock Mountain State Park is Georgia's highest state park, perched at an altitude of 3,640 feet along the Eastern Continental Divide in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Named for the sheer cliffs of dark biotite gneiss found within its borders it rncompasses 1,743 acres, including four peaks over 3,000 feet besides Black Rock Mountain itself. An overlook newr the visitor center offers an 80-mile panoramic vistas where on clear days reveal four states: Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Camped here in June'26 when regular city temperature was 100f the campground was 50-70f. So be prepared for your light winter clothes and blankets when camping here. The campground was very clean and quiet. The toilet and bathrooms were clean. The campgrounds are inclined so, you might need to walk on steep hike road from bathroom to your tents( depending on the site you choose). If you don't want to walk/hike then select a campground near bathroom. There is a lake and few trails and hikes to explore in the area. Sunset and Sunrise was beautiful. You would be able to see clouds under you during sunrise.

Hands down one of the best campgrounds we’ve stayed at! Super friendly staff make rounds often, made me feel really safe. Dog friendly, clean spots. Facilities stay clean and well maintained, spots have electric and water hook ups. The town nearby has plenty of restaurants and grocery stores in case you forget anything. Hiking trails are moderate. The views at the top are incredible, 10/10 recommend!

This is a great little SP campground, we are spending four nights here, three nights in and we’re really enjoying it. The roads coming in are tight switchbacks. Not a place where you’d want to bring a big rig, but for tents and small campers it’s perfect. Our 19 foot travel trailer fits in just fine. Nice breezes, lots of mountain overlooks, waterfalls nearby. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Stan at the trading post checked us in and gave us lots of good info. We would definitely come back here for another great camping experience.

Highly recommend camping here. The rates are reasonable on both sides. We chose to do the tent camping side and used "G". While our site flooded somewhat during a storm. The site was generally nice, slightly a walk down a trail. But close to the bathrooms within 2-3 minutes. There's a fire ring with grill, picnic table and a very nice "bear box". The showers are probably some of the hottest showers I've seen at a campground so far, with clean restrooms and a trough to wash your dishes outside using a pump. Trash facilities are available to use with bagged trash only. The road in is a little bumpy. So smaller or lower cars may have trouble. The store up front was nice with reasonably priced ice and firewood. We were able to easily check into a site and buy the Parking Pass which you need to park in Georgia National parks. Would camp here again.
