They were closed ,when its hours showed they should've been open. They did have a couple of maps on hand. I picked up some and proceeded to venture into the forest on some of the gravel roads. Checked out the campground.. Saw a bear climbing up the hillside . He stopped, turned and looked at us and bam just like that he sprinted up the hill. Didn't have a chance to snap a picture. About 35 yards away. Was awesome.
Jul 11, 2026 · Google ReviewAmazing place to visit! Please make sure you're on USFSP property though. The rangers are awesome and super helpful. Visit the ranger station, day or night and then set out on your adventure. You can see waterfalls, historic sites, and even some incredible wildlife.... we heard quite a few turkeys and coyotes. Please don't pass this spot without stopping!
May 9, 2021 · Google ReviewVery informative. Plenty of handouts. Exceptionally kind and helpful rangers answered all of my questions. And they were right -- all five of the waterfalls they recommended were beautiful.
Aug 27, 2024 · Google ReviewLots of hiking, pet friendly but trails and maps not clearly marked. It was difficult navigating. Couldn't find trail back to parking lot.
Apr 24, 2022 · Google ReviewOne of the better hikes I've been on here in the East coast. The hike is a bit longer with a fair amount of elevation incline and decline. Dogs are welcome and are allowed off leash in some areas (friendly dogs recommend). Great 1.5 hour hike out and back.
