My friends and I got lost in the Tallulah Falls Gorge while on vacation. We lost daylight and we were wet and cold and couldn't see a thing. Officer Chris was very helpful with coming in to come rescue us and guide us out of the Gorge and offered us a ride back to our vehicle. We are very grateful for everyone's help from Officer Chris, the dispatcher, and the volunteer firefighters who assisted as well. Without them we'd still be stuck in the Gorge!

I want to give a huge thank you to the Tallulah Falls Police Department, especially Officer Chris, for rescuing me, my husband, and our friends after we got stuck in the Gorge. We lost daylight, I was freezing and exhausted, and there was no way I could have made it out safely on my own. Officer Chris was incredibly patient, reassuring, and literally helped guide me up the side of the mountain. We are so grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and calm presence during such a scary moment. Thank you to the entire department for your quick response and for going above and beyond to make sure we made it out safely. You’re truly appreciated!

Officer Chris went above and beyond to help rescue my family when they were stuck in the Tallulah Falls Gorge while they were freezing and wet from falling into the river in the dark. I will forever be thankful for the kindness of Officer Chris and his dedication to ensuring each of their safeties. While I fully understand most of the negative reviews already posted...... ...I actually had a really good experience with the once a month court system and the police chief. Yes, the traffic camera citation process is pretty awful, especially if you receive a second ticket when you never even knew about the first one and the second violation is almost double the fine. The school zone flashing light system is certainly confusing. HOWEVER....I was treated extremely fairly at my hearing and it definitely seemed like the primary objective was to get people to slow down to 45 mph, rather than just collecting fines. The judge and police chief were really nice, understanding, reasonable.....and much appreciated. Basically.....just drive the 45 mph speed limit all the way through town and you'll be fine!
