My husband and I ate here for the first time tonight. WOW! The food was INCREDIBLE. We got the homemade mozzarella sticks for appetizers with garlic knots. Soooooo good!! My husband got build your own pizza and it was one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. So flavorful and the crust was perfect. I got a 14oz Ribeye with mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. OUT OF THIS WORLD! The steak was grilled to perfection at medium rare, the mashed potatoes were homemade and topped with some seasonings and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. The veggies were seasoned and scrumptious! Butternut squash, onions, mushrooms and spinach. We left no crumbs! Our waiter was very nice and attentive. My order got lost somehow and I would typically remove a star for that but they made up for it but giving us extra garlic knots and a super HUGE steak! Much bigger than I ordered. We were pleasantly surprised by that.

The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and unmistakably “mountain-Italian”—a style that perfectly reflects the rich heritage and down-home charm of Rabun County. Service is consistently friendly and attentive, and you can tell the staff takes pride in the experience they deliver. The standout dish? The Spinach Lasagna. It deserves its own spotlight. Layers of perfectly cooked pasta, creamy ricotta, fresh spinach, and a rich, house-made marinara come together to create one of the best lasagnas you’ll find anywhere in North Georgia. Leaving it a 5… with an asterisk. I got excited and started looking at the menu missing the RED TEXT in there. Twice. Sandwiches (subs) are not available after 3pm. Thought I’d get a steak. RED TEXT… ribeyes only available Mom-Thurs. daughter asked for a shrimp pasta dish. Server says they don’t make that till after 4pm. It was 3:45…. 🤔 If you’re past that. This is why it’s a 5. Cheese bread is basically a sub roll… but it was excellent. Very light and crispy… NOT burnt at all. Marinara was excellent. My daughter did get Walmart she asked for and it was excellent. The chicken parm was baked in the bowl enough it crusted the cheese a bit. $97 for two pastas and a pizza with 3 drinks. A bit rich for me, but it was good. I recommend it, but look for the RED TEXT in theme so you dont get annoyed.

Mama G's is hands down probably the best Italian place I've been to. The food was absolutely amazing packed full of flavor and freshness. I have nothing but praise and love for this place. It is a little on the expensive side but worth it. I will definitely be back anytime I am near Clayton, GA again!
