Loved this venue! It was a "perfect" stop, affordable, well-maintained and well worth the drive. We packed a lunch, took our fishing poles and our cooler with a few cold drinks, that was all we needed. Highlights are: 1) special places designated for seniors and kids to fish where you can actually see the fish. 2) It cost us 6 bucks to park, entry was free. 3) You can buy any supplies you need when you pay to park at the cool entrance store. 4) It's right next door to the fish hatchery which is a free educational experience. They release fish into the water just above this place twice a week which helps ensure fishing success 🙌 . 5) It's an RV camp, a vacation spot and a glorious place to commune with nature. 6) There's a boat ramp and lots of swings and benches and picnic tables around for your enjoyment and relaxation. All in all " we loved Mocassin Creek State Park"!! It turned out to be the highlight of our vacation because we went back to where we were staying with fresh trout to cook on our grill for dinner. That was way cool !

Moccasin Creek Campground has been a staple of Lake Burton. Amazing views, great camping, rv, etc. Walking distance to fish hatchery and Hemlock Falls. Take a trip with the family soon. Come enjoy all Moccasin Creek State Park has to offer.

Small but beautiful state park. The campground takes up a good portion of the park and is mostly RVs although tents are also welcome. We did not camp this time but did drive around and look, some of the sites offer more privacy and space than others. There's a store up front where you check in that you can purchase bait for fishing. There is a special restricted fishing access right on the creek only for kids 11 and under and seniors to fish which is nice. It has easy shore fishing and also some little mini pier/docks. There is a bridge over the creek that connects to the boat ramp and fish hatchery. The rest of the creek and lake shoreline is open to anyone for fishing (with license). There are boat docks where campers can keep boats overnight. There are benches and swings along the water. Some are in the shade which is nice! There are also open green spaces, a playground for kids, a large pavilion, and a smaller pavilion with picnic tables. You can also rent canoes/kayaks here although we did not do that this trip. This was our first time and we brought a picnic and fished. The kids loved that you could see the trout in the water, although they did not catch anything they still had fun! When we visited in early May the bathrooms were maybe the cleanest I have ever seen at a state park! Overall, this is a smaller park but we enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing day and would love to come back sometime.

Very nice place. Restrooms are very clean. Fishing on the creek is a plus. Several places to sit and enjoy your coffee with a water view. I would have given a 5 star if campsites had more privacy.

This is a tiny state park on Lake Burton. The camping area is nice and shady. The lake is nice and clear and there is a nice stream feeding the lake on the edge of the park with a fish hatchery on the opposite side. Great place for kids to fish.
