Great place to visit as you can do a longer hike from a lower portion of the trail which is moderately challenging or you can go to the parking that is a mile next to the fire tower which is a fairly easy hike with some incline! The views are gorgeous from above and well worth visiting if you’re in the area!

SPECTACULAR panoramic views of the most beautiful part of the country. Came here on a backpacking trip after a very rainy day to find the top unlocked! It was cool and dry up there so set up camp and enjoyed the most amazing night of backpacking in my life. Highly recommend stopping here. I will be back.

This place is majestic and we are blessed to be able to experience it. But due to worthless ignorant people we can't have nice things... the top is locked to prevent idiots from disrespectfully vandalizing the historical tower and now some brainless human shot and broke this historical sign.. some people don't even deserve to breath the air these places exist at..

Easy 1 mile hike round-trip. The views at the top of the tower are paralleled by nothing else in the area. It takes roughly 10 miles of driving on gravel but the road is well maintained. I highly recommend this hike if you are in the area. You can see the smokies, GA, Whiteside mountain, the Franklin area, and all the surrounding mountains for miles.
