Took a group of ten girls camping for the week with horses and no screens. Great trails we do wish the toilet was a little cleaner out freaked out some of the girl. The picket line wad a mus pit. I wish I had driven up amd looked at the sites before booking. But over all we loved the riding.
Feb 16, 2026 · Google ReviewFairly good USFS campground. Location and access is easy enough, gravel roads are in decent shape. The sites are large and previous horse campers have cleaned up after their animals. No camp host at this time of year (January) so firepit had to be shoveled out and picnic table was in need of repairs. Pit toilet was clean enough. Bottom line we would definitely camp here again, very reasonable price wise.
Jan 5, 2026 · Google ReviewI dont even own a horse, but I make the 30+ minute ride toward the mountains to get it as one of my " Go To Hikes" .I use the parking in the loop to the right across the road from the campground itself. At dusk on Sunday after Christmas. I had the place to myself for a beautiful ,foggy 4.2 mile walk around the campground and down to the Chattooga and back.I love the National Forest Service Roads for this purpose.Aftetwards , I sat in the fog in my camp chair to have somevwater and listen...except for 2 far , far away jets, taking weary holiday travelers home, it w.as absolute silence ...was wonderful to soak in...
