The Chattooga River Ranger District will host a Kids Fishing Day at Tallulah River Campground, offering youth the opportunity to learn fishing skills and spend time outdoors on their national forest.
This event is open to youth ages 15 and under. Participants will have the opportunity to fish, enjoy lunch and take part in activities that include goodie bags and prizes. Participants should bring a fishing rod and bait. Restroom facilities will be available on site.
Directions:
From Clayton, take U.S. Highway 76 west for approximately 8 miles.
• Turn right (north) onto Persimmon Road and continue for 5 miles
• Turn left (northwest) onto Forest Service Road 70 and travel approximately 1 mile to Tallulah River
• Continue an additional 3 miles to Tate Branch or 5 miles to Sandy Bottom if traveling further along the corridor
This event is designed for youth of all experience levels and supports outdoor recreation and stewardship of aquatic resources across the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest.
