Shannon BakerOur waiter was so nice and the food was great! Get the Burrata cheese and garlic bread appetizer, pizza, and the “elephant ear” Italian donut dessert - soooo good. There’s even a swing bar below (literal swings at a bar!) that’s opened Th-Sun. It’s right across from Rabun Hotel where we stayed.

The food was exceptional and the price was reasonable. The staff works together so well and the lakeside location is unique. Thanks for having us!!

J BWe were in Tiger, GA for the weekend to enjoy some of the North GA mountains wineries. Max's came up as I was searching for restaurants in the area and I was intrigued by the good reviews for NY style pizza. I've been in Georgia for 10 years and being from New England I'm used to great Northeast, thin, crispy pizza. Have yet to find it anywhere in Georgia. So, we tried it on a Saturday night. First of all, the lake Max's is on Lake Rabun is gorgeous. Seemed like a lot of regulars/locals. But it had a cool, casual vibe. The staff was over the top nice and professional. We sat outside and our server insured us that even pizza snobs love their pizza. We ordered the Margarita and a meatball appetizer. This is the real deal. First the meatballs came with incredible garlic bread, and both were delicious. But the star was the pizza. Thin, crispy, charred crust. I think a cross between NY/NJ style and believe it or not similar to New Haven style with the charred crust. Gave it a 8.6 out of 10. Which is the best I have had in the whole state of GA. We will return. Just far exceeded our expectations. And also reasonably priced. Oh and the waiter said they have a high tech, coal fire pizza oven. So that tells you what this place feels about delivering quality pizza.
